Introducing the Venustas USB-C Heated Vest Series: A Practical Upgrade for Everyday Warmth

Over the past few winters, Venustas 7.4V classic heated vests have become a go-to layer for many people. They warm up reliably, last for hours, and use a well-proven power system. Those classic models aren’t going anywhere—they remain an excellent choice for anyone who needs steady, long-lasting warmth, whether for outdoor work, winter travel, or all-day wear.

This year, we’re adding something new: the USB-C 9V Heated Vest series (W38 for women, M37 for men). It’s not meant to replace the classic line. It simply gives people another way to stay warm—especially those who prefer using the same power banks they already carry for their phones and other devices.

If your phone, earbuds, or tablet uses a USB-C charger, you likely already own a USB-C power bank. Our new vest is built to work seamlessly with those familiar everyday batteries.

Why USB-C? Because users asked for it.

One question has come up again and again: Can I use my own power bank instead of a dedicated vest battery?

Across the industry, most heated-apparel, including ours in previous generations, were designed with proprietary DC charging ports. This meant the battery system itself worked well, but the power connector was not universal. Users couldn’t simply plug in a USB-C power bank they already owned.

In daily life, this limitation becomes clear: if you forget the original battery, misplace it, or don’t have time to recharge it after your last use, there’s no easy way to substitute another power bank.

And this is where USB-C makes a real difference.

USB-C is widely adopted, highly compatible, and already part of most people’s everyday devices. By redesigning the vest’s power port to USB-C, replacing the traditional DC connector, the new vests can now work with many certified power banks. The battery didn’t change; the port did, and that’s what makes universal compatibility possible.

Beyond convenience, USB-C also introduces a meaningful sustainability benefit. When users can power multiple devices with a single universal battery, they naturally avoid accumulating extra chargers, duplicate batteries, and unnecessary electronic waste. It’s a small change that supports a broader movement in modern electronics: simpler setups, fewer accessories, and a cleaner footprint over time.

9V Heating: Faster Warmth You Can Feel Immediately

Beyond the new USB-C port, the USB-C Heated Vest W38 (for Women)and M37 (for men) feature a 9V CNT (carbon nanotube) heating system, which is noticeably quicker than the classic 7.4V setup. In practical terms, the vest reaches a comfortable temperature in about half the time, so you feel warmth within seconds when stepping into the cold.

CNT panels also deliver more even heat and maintain stable temperature control, minimizing hot spots and fluctuations. You may not think about the material science behind it, but you’ll feel the difference in how quickly and smoothly the vest warms up.

Using Your Own USB-C Power Bank: A Few Tips

You can absolutely use your own USB-C power bank with the new models. However, safe and reliable performance requires:

  • USB-IF certified power banks
  • models with USB-C output
  • at least 5V/2A output

What we don’t recommend:

  • extremely cheap, unbranded power banks
  • batteries without proper certification

A Small but Important Difference

Third-party power banks do not include the communication feature built into the Venustas battery. Our dedicated battery communicates directly with the heating system, allowing the vest to automatically wake the power source when you long-press the button.

Standard USB-C power banks cannot respond to these signals, so the start-up sequence works differently. You must:

  1. Turn on the power bank manually
  2. Activate the vest within the power bank’s wake window

Depending on the brand’s auto-sleep settings, this may require additional attempts.

For the Best Experience: The Venustas Dedicated Battery

While third-party USB-C power banks offer convenience and choice, the Venustas battery delivers the most seamless experience. It is:

  • Engineered specifically for heated apparel
  • Able to communicate directly with the heating system
  • Automatically activated when you power on the vest
  • Built with UL-certified cells and a fully ETL-certified power system
  • Slim, lightweight, and performance-optimized

Not required—but highly recommended for users who want the smoothest, most reliable heating performance.

Choosing the Right Capacity for Your Lifestyle

Since different users have different needs, our dedicated batteries come in multiple capacities—each suited for a specific type of daily routine.

  • Mini 36Wh Battery – Ideal for short commutes, quick outings, or users who prefer the lightest setup possible. A great match for everyday urban wear.

  • Standard 54Wh Battery – A balanced option for regular daily use, offering reliable warmth without adding bulk.

  • High-Capacity 74Wh Battery – Designed for long outdoor shifts, winter sports, travel, or situations where extended runtime matters most.

By offering multiple capacities, users can choose exactly how much power they want to carry—lightweight for mobility, or high-capacity for all-day warmth.

USB-C and Dedicated Batteries: Two Ways to Stay Warm

Instead of choosing one direction, we designed both systems to coexist. Some users prefer the familiarity and long runtime of our dedicated battery; others love the convenience of powering their vest with a USB-C bank they already carry.

Both options remain in the Venustas lineup—simply pick the one that fits your routine.

Conclusion:A Small Upgrade That Makes a Real Difference

Every winter we hear the same frustrations:

  • “I forgot my heated vest battery.”
  • “Why can’t I use the power bank I already have?”
  • “I used it last time and completely forgot to recharge the battery afterward.”

The USB-C heated vest was created with these everyday frustrations in mind, making heated wear easier to use, more universal, and faster to warm up.

If the idea of powering your vest with the same USB-C battery you use every day sounds appealing, the new models will fit right in. And for those who appreciate the all-day endurance of our dedicated-battery vests, the USB-C series adds another option to your winter toolkit—one that complements, rather than replaces, what you already use.

This season, our goal is straightforward: make sure every lifestyle has a Venustas vest that feels right for it.
